About Auto Cure | Our Story
Founded in 1996 by Markus Minihold, a qualified Mechanical Engineer and lifelong motoring enthusiast, Auto Cure Midrand has grown into one of the area’s most trusted and respected independent automotive repair centres. Markus’ passion for cars was inspired by his father’s career in the motor industry, and his vision for Auto Cure was driven by a desire to raise the standard of service excellence in automotive care.
With an unwavering commitment to quality workmanship, transparency, and customer satisfaction, Auto Cure has proudly served the Midrand community for nearly three decades, building a reputation as a workshop where the job is done right the first time.
Beyond the workshop, Markus’ love for performance vehicles led him into motorsport. In 2003, he purchased and developed his Porsche 911 SC, which went on to become the fastest narrow-body 911 on record at both Kyalami and Zwartkops Raceway in 2007. Today, the car has evolved into a 911 RSR replica, and Auto Cure continues to support and upgrade Porsche vehicles, extending this racing expertise into the care of customer cars. Motorsport remains part of the Auto Cure culture, with the team actively involved in the development and maintenance of the race car.
In 2007, Auto Cure expanded by acquiring the Silverton Radiators Midrand franchise, enabling us to provide specialist radiator repairs and replacements alongside our existing mechanical services. This was followed in 2011 with the addition of a dedicated air-conditioning division, offering professional aircon repairs, servicing, and re-gassing.
Today, Auto Cure and Silverton Radiators Midrand stand as a full-service automotive facility, equipped with the latest diagnostic technology, qualified technicians, and decades of proven expertise—all dedicated to keeping your vehicle reliable, safe, and performing at its best.
