Workshop Policies, Service Guidelines & Disclaimer

Our Commitment to Transparent Automotive Service

At Auto Cure & Silverton Radiator Midrand, we are committed to providing professional automotive services with a strong focus on quality workmanship, technical expertise, safety and transparent communication.

As an established motor vehicle service centre, we understand that vehicle repairs can involve complex mechanical, electrical and cooling-system faults. Our objective is to provide customers with clear information regarding the services we offer, applicable diagnostic charges and our workshop procedures before work is undertaken.

To ensure that expectations are clear for both our customers and our workshop team, the following policies and service guidelines apply to our current workshop operations.

1. Workshop Services

Radiators – Replacement Only

Modern vehicle radiators commonly incorporate plastic end tanks and thin aluminium cores. With prolonged exposure to operating temperatures and thermal cycling, these materials can become brittle and susceptible to further failure.

For this reason, Auto Cure & Silverton Radiator Midrand does not repair, patch or weld modern vehicle radiators.

Attempting to repair an isolated leak can place additional stress on surrounding aged or weakened components and may result in further leakage. Our policy is therefore to recommend complete radiator replacement where the radiator itself has failed.

This approach is intended to provide a safer and more reliable long-term solution rather than carrying out a temporary repair to a component that may have multiple areas of deterioration.

Please note: The radiator service offered is replacement only. This supersedes any older advertising, signage, photographs or references that may suggest that radiator repairs are available.

Fuel Tank Services – Discontinued

For safety, environmental and operational reasons, Auto Cure no longer provides fuel tank welding, structural fuel tank repairs or internal fuel tank reconditioning services.

Customers requiring these services will need to consult an appropriately equipped and authorised specialist.

Misfuelling Emergency Services

We continue to provide standard wrong-fuel emergency drain and flush services where a vehicle has been incorrectly fuelled.

Customers are encouraged to contact us as soon as possible after discovering that the incorrect fuel has been added to their vehicle and, where possible, avoid starting or driving the vehicle, as doing so may increase the potential for additional fuel-system or engine-related issues.

2. Diagnostics & Fault Finding

Diagnostic Charges

Vehicle fault finding and diagnostics can require specialised equipment, inspection, testing and technician time.

Our minimum charge for vehicle fault diagnostics is equivalent to one hour of workshop labour.

This minimum diagnostic charge applies where a vehicle is presented for the purpose of investigating a fault, identifying the cause of a problem or carrying out diagnostic troubleshooting.

Automotive diagnostics can sometimes involve a process of testing and elimination, particularly where a fault is intermittent or where more than one component may contribute to the reported symptoms.

A diagnostic assessment therefore identifies and investigates the reported fault based on the information and conditions available at the time of testing. A diagnostic assessment should not be interpreted as a guarantee that every underlying or future vehicle fault will be identified during the initial inspection.

Cooling-System Test Exclusion

Standard coolant-system pressure tests and cooling-system leak tests are excluded from the one-hour minimum diagnostic charge.

Where such testing is required, the applicable service or labour charges will be communicated accordingly.

3. Vehicle Repairs & Service Information

Vehicle faults can have multiple causes, and additional issues may sometimes become apparent during inspection, testing or the repair process.

Where further investigation is required, customers will be advised as appropriate based on the findings available to the workshop.

Our approach is centred on precision diagnostics, transparent communication and responsible automotive workmanship, rather than making absolute guarantees about the outcome of complex mechanical or electronic fault-finding.

Our goal is to help keep your vehicle operating safely and reliably while providing a professional and transparent service experience.

4. Payments & Vehicle Collection

Account Settlement

To ensure a smooth vehicle handover, customers are required to settle their account in full upon completion of the authorised work and before the vehicle is collected.

Release of Vehicles & Components

No vehicle or component will be released by the workshop until the applicable account has been paid in full.

Customers are encouraged to ensure that payment arrangements are in place before arriving to collect their vehicle.

5. Quotes, Estimates & Additional Findings

Automotive repairs can sometimes reveal additional faults or related issues that could not reasonably be identified before inspection or dismantling.

Where additional work falls outside the originally agreed scope, the customer should be informed and the applicable costs communicated before such additional work is undertaken, where reasonably practicable.

This ensures that customers have a clear understanding of the work being considered and the associated costs.

6. Previous Advertising, Photographs & Historical Information

Current Policy Supersedes Older Information

Auto Cure & Silverton Radiator Midrand maintains an ongoing commitment to keeping its website, advertising and customer information as accurate and current as reasonably possible.

This current workshop policy supersedes older workshop signage, printed materials, advertising, photographs and historical information that may still appear on third-party platforms, including Google Business Profile listings and social media pages.

Where older photographs or promotional material indicate that a service was previously available, customers should rely on the current information published on our website or confirmed directly by the workshop.

7. Customer Acknowledgement

By requesting services from Auto Cure & Silverton Radiator Midrand, customers acknowledge that they have been provided with access to the workshop’s current service policies and guidelines.

These policies are intended to promote clear communication, transparency and a professional understanding between the workshop and its customers.

Specific repair requirements, vehicle conditions, parts availability, diagnostic findings and other circumstances may vary from vehicle to vehicle.

Nothing contained in this policy is intended to exclude or limit any rights or protections that may apply to a customer under applicable South African law.
